Working at a CEGEP
CEGEPs are Quebec’s public colleges: students enter after Secondary V and follow a two-year pre-university program or a three-year technical program. Positions fall into four groups — faculty, professional staff, support staff and management — each covered by a province-wide collective agreement, so salary scales and benefits are the same from one college to the next.
The requirements will vary depending on the job posting. Most postings are open to candidates from outside Quebec, and knowledge of French is often an asset rather than a requirement in the English network (depending on the position).
